After binge-drinking and casual sex, now Sally Bercow reveals she smoked cannabis while at public school
Speaker’s wife Sally Bercow has admitted taking drugs when she was a pupil at a top public school.
Labour-supporting Mrs Bercow, who last week revealed a drink-fuelled string of casual affairs, yesterday confessed to using cannabis at Marlborough College, where she studied with the wives of David Cameron and George Osborne.
But the mother of three strongly denied she had ever taken cocaine.
Mrs Bercow, 40, shocked the Commons last week by revealing her promiscuous, binge-drinking past before marrying John, 46, who sat as a Tory MP before becoming Speaker in June.
She said she had spoken out because she feared her colourful background would be dug up and used to wreck her dream of becoming a Labour MP.
Yet all it did was provoke more revelations by her former friends – and further disclosures by the Bercows.
Yesterday, she attempted to calm the controversy by saying she had put herself forward to appear in public health campaigns warning young women about binge-drinking.
